Facial Recognition Psychology Study
Project type
Research Study
Date
Jan 2022
Effects of racial conflict and ethnic divide has increasingly become a major concern, making it necessary to determine the causes to prejudicial behaviours and the association between cognitive facial processing and the personal construct of own race beliefs. The purpose of this study therefore holds great importance in exploring the association between cognitive functioning in facial recognition of different ethnic origins, and the personal construct of own race beliefs. By investigating these issues from a social cognitive standpoint, looking at the importance of psychological processing, we can gain a better understanding to the inner working mechanics behind facial perception, and person recognition that could lead to detrimental effects on behavioural and decisional lifestyle choices (Hoffmann et al, 2020).
